Pack This!

*from pier1.com

Just about every time I go to Pier 1 Imports, a decor/furniture store, I see assorted fun notepads that can be filled out and given to someone or can be useful to yourself.
*I could probably use the whole notepad above on just one person - she's not a very good friend ;)
I've got a family trip coming up next week so I have been VERRRYY tempted lately to get a notepad that is a packing checklist.  I used to make my own checklists, but who wants to do that every time when you can just buy a pre-made one?!

I made it bigger than norm so you can read it if you'd like.  I can't find this one on the website, so they may not even have it in the store anymore, but you can search images for "Pack This! checklist" and this will come up.  You can simply save the picture and print it out - which I'm very tempted to do.  It may even be better to do it that way if you don't travel often, that way you won't have to worry about finding (and remembering, which is always my problem!) a place to store the pad.
This can even make packing fun!  Normally I don't mind the packing, really I'm indifferent - it's the unpacking that gets me, but with this checklist, I'm ready to start packing right now!

Washi Tape?!

I was pinning things the other day on Pinterest and came across a pin to a blog that had a post about a washi tape keyboard...  I about lost it over how cute it looked!  And what a good idea!
Obviously I furiously searched the web for the exact kit that was used on that keyboard.  I successfully found it (I got 16A&B) and copied the keyboard that was on the blog because I loved the placement she did!  I would insert the link to her blog, but I can't find it!!

It was a tedious task, but in the end I think it was worth it.  The medium tape is the perfect width to fit the keys - the kits I bought came with skinny, medium and wider widths.  The Command keys were a little awkward, I had to use 1 1/3 pieces of tape side by side, but you can't really tell.
I have read that the tape will be easy to take off and shouldn't leave a sticky residue...  I'm really hoping that's the case.  I'm actually a little nervous for when the time comes, but for now, I'll just enjoy my brightly colored keys.

Of course you'll have a bunch of tape left over.  I wrapped all of my tea lights in the stuff, but I've also seen the tape made into magnets; used to tape envelopes; tape presents for Christmas; or wrap plastic cutlery!  Let me know of any other ways you can use the tape, or if you've already washi-fied your keyboard.  I'd love to see :)

Who Doesn't Love Boots?!

*image from The Frye Company's Facebook page

Before I get started, I work at a women's boutique.  We sell jewelry, handbags, shoes and prom dresses.  I was super excited for Fall and riding boots to come around since I get a very generous discount on our products.  NewsFlash!  We are not going to be selling riding boots, which honestly is a bad decision seeing as they're the most popular style boot *hangs head down in shame*.  So naturally I go online and look at The Frye Company's boots because I love to torture myself by looking at things I can't afford, but really shouldn't buy when I can afford them.  How gorgeous are those metallic boots?!  I can't freaking take it!  It's taking all I've got right now to not close up the store and run down to Shoe Station and buy the first pair of boots that catch my eye.

Has anyone owned or tried a pair of Frye boots? A lot of the people on Facebook say they're so good you'll want to collect once you buy your first pair.

And seriously, this picture alone just makes me want to buy the boots so I can attempt, but not come remotely as close to this gorgeous, taking a picture like this.  It was submitted and won a photo contest for TFC.  A horse, a beautiful driveway and a gorgeous pair of boots.

Oh, and Katniss Everdeen wears them.  Need I say more :)

Welcome!

Welcome :)

This will be a blog where I will talk about all things girly (duh!) and throw in some posts about travel; my lovable, silly puppy dog and my beautiful but always messy horse.
